Some thoughts about Super Sons #8

The Super Sons will find themselves in another world.

After their last adventure, both Jon and Damian have been abducted to a different dimension where they're needed the most due that they're heroes have been long gone.

A new storyline begins and so far, so good.

Peter Tomasi uses this chapter to explore the concept of the multiverse to create a new post-apocaliptic reality where heroes no longer exist and the only hope is on the hand of kids which is obviously very appropriate for the book. The characterization remains enjoyable due to the multiple fun lines the author gives to the protagonists as well as to the new characters who are introduced here.

The world itself is interesting enough but not particularly fascinating, it serves its purpose at deliver a motivation to the characters to progress the plot but is not that unique compared to other dimensions with similar premises. Hopefully this will change in the next issue.

Jorge Jimenez is without a doubt one of the best things about this book, his kinetic artwork compensates for any weakness in the script and delivers a pretty kinetic and powerful style.

Solid overall, excited for the next one.
