Some thoughts about Aquaman #12

The war has begun once again.

Black Manta is manipulating both Atlantis and the surface to fight each other and the disasters from both sides are starting to increase. Can Arthur find a solution before everything is lost?

Pretty much what you would expect already, still solid.

Dan Abnett continues his ongoing story and he doesn't waste any time once again by developing Black Manta's plans towards his enemies. I have to appreciate how Abnett has been building up Manta's role as the big villain who is able to manipulate others to achieve his goals, is a nice improvement over some of his previous appearances.

The plot progresses at a nice pace and actually offers much more content this time since there are several sub-plots being introduced in the form of the Aquamarines, new faces in Atlantis and the current war both civilizations have to prepare for. There are many action scenes and character moments as well.

Philippe Briones is in charge of the pencils and his work has actually become better by offering more details to his characters and scenarios along with stronger storytelling.

Enjoyable, this series hardly dissappoints.
