Can the Justice League face their greatest enemy?
Prometheus is decided to destroy the team's reputation and this might be easier than anyone expected.
Boy, this is not getting better.
Steve Orlando offers a new installment where he focuses on the battle between the JLA and Prometheus but doesn't handle it particularly well. For example, the way how Afterthought "tricks" Lobo into knocking out Black Canary is so forced that is just ridiculous, it doesn't make Afterthought look smarter or more competent, is just a sign of bad writing. The manner how the rest of the team is brought back is not exactly believable either even for superhero standards.
Are there any saving points? I guess that Orlando gets Prometheus' character right at the very least with him challenging authority and trying to give him more depth in that regard but making people believe his statements is an extreme considering that the whole world should know that he's a supervillain already and thus the theme is once again, pretty forced.
Hugo Petrus' pencils are fine, solid expressions and fight scenes all around.
Other than that, please just end already.
How is it possible to have a book with all these interesting characters (Lobo, Vixen, the Ray, Prometheus etc) to be such garbage? Even worse, it defecates on the character of the former even worse than New 52 Lobo.
ResponderBorrarThe worst part is that the one-shots special that set-up this series were pretty good for the most part and made this title pretty promising.
BorrarSadly, Orlando wasn't able to fulfill the promise and ended-up delivering underwhelming story after underwhelming story. At this point I'm just waiting for this title to be cancelled and going to jump into the team books that Jeff Lemire is doing.
