Can the Justice League face one of their greatest enemies?
Someone has been learning about the members of the team during their weakest moment due to the absense of Batman and now is time for him to reveal himself.
This was a surprisingly self-aware issue.
At this point the general consensus is that Steve Orlando's JLA hasn't lived up to its potential after how hyped it was and the events that were prepared to create it. That being said, I was interested in this chapter due to the appearance of Prometheus considering that Orlando handled him pretty well during his Midnighter series and here he does a decent job by evoking the same style that happened during Grant Morrison's JLA about Prometheus' first appearance and depicting him adequately.
What do I mean about this issue being self-aware though? Well, it seems like Orlando himself is making the characters reflect about how the book itself is a failure. The absense of Batman (probably because of the Metal event) is implemented to make the characters realize how worthless they have been as a whole like mentioning how Black Canary has barely done anything and Vixen hasn't exactly lead anybody yet. Mind you, addressing your issues doesn't automatically fix them and this makes me believe that Orlando is preparing himself to jump ship.
Hugo Petrus is in charge of the pencils and he's solid with an expressive and appealing style and competent storytelling.
Not great but I guess I could see where this is going at the very least.
