Some thoughts about Batman: The Devastator #1

What does happen to a Batman who lost all hope?

Bruce Wayne was terrified after Superman lost all control and decided to create an universe where nobody could feel the pain he felt.

Another Metal tie-in arrives and fortunately is yet another entertaining one.

Frank Tieri delivers a story about a Batman with a Superman theme but as you might have noticed, this one is more focused on Doomsday. The reason about why this Bruce Wayne chose this path is clearly explored, this is a perfectly good justification for him to turn this way and creates a pretty interesting universe where the worse happened to the greatest hero. I also love how Tieri parodied the Batman V. Superman movie, particularly the big fight between the two characters but in a way that makes much more sense.

Things get even better once that The Devastator arrives to the main DCU and starts propagating his virus due that it shows interesting characterization from Lois which is demonstrated in emotional moments.

Tony Daniel handles the art and is beautiful with a great sense of storytelling and polish over the course of the read and elevates the script even more.

Probably one of my favorite tie-ins. Great stuff.
