The Chimera is decided to get rid of Aquaman no matter what.
Arthur is trying to reason with the Creature King and by getting into his human side but this might not be enough to calm him down and so their final battle will have to end one way or another.
There are things that worked for me and others that didn't sadly.
The Chimera's abilities are pretty interesting and they represent a nice challenge for Aquaman, the way how the villain's skills are used is pretty creative and Jeff Parker is able to exploit them correctly.
However, the battle between Aquaman and the Chimera itself felt kinda anticlimactic, the fight was over a bit too soon almost like it didn't present a true challenge for the protagonist. There are some sub-plots about how this might affect Arthur but nothing really game changing.
Besides, based on the plans that were teased in the beginning there was supposed to be a personal conflict for the Chimera between his human and monster side, but here there was no much of a dilemma and it seems like it was quickly dropped.
Carlos Rodriguez is on the artwork replacing Paul Pelletier and despite that his art is not bad, is still not at the level of the usual penciller. The characters and action scenes are not as refined.
Decent issue overall but not really an impressive conclusion.
