Some thoughts about Red Lanterns #34

The final battle against Atrocitus is here and not all of them will survive.

Zillius Zox sacrificed his life to save his friends and now Guy Gardner will have to deal with the ramifications. Meanwhile, Atrocitus is ready to use the people from earth against Guy and his Red Lanterns, how will they be able to get alive from this?

Well, this issue certainly delivered in some terms.

Charles Soule continues to bring the usual strong character work by creating an interesting plot with plenty of surprises, one of the best concerning Skallox and how his alliances have been changing over the course of this run.

The last fight between Guy and Atrocitus is appropriate but not particularly great. The way how Guy handles it makes a lot of sense and creates good moments but it feels a bit too quick and anticlimactic.

Plus, I might be wrong about this but I don't think that breaking a Red Lantern's neck is enough to kill them considering what happened to them in the past.

Alessandro Vitti and Jim Calafiore share pencils for this issue and their work complements each other's perfectly. Their styles are quite similar and capture the bloodies scenes in the best way possible,

Solid issue despite of some complaints, still an enjoyable one.
