Some thoughts about All Star Western #34

Is the end of the trail, or is it?

Both Jonah and Tallulah Black are about to begin a mission that can only end-up in death and in fact, this is the last day of Jonah Hex's life.

First of all, I should mention that I regret getting into this title so late.

This doesn't mean that I couldn't appreciate what both Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray were trying to do here since it was focused on a specific niche from the comic industry and it was quite well-executed and unique in those terms.

This issue is no different since the creative team manages to create an intense story with lots of great character moments that also deals with the ramifications from the previous installments. Jonah Hex's face has returned back to normal and that makes for an interesting way to complete his life, this also connects to one of the most interesting aspects about the character's fate like, was his corpse truly used as an attraction?

Is necessary to mention that this issue concludes a long journey that both creators have taken with the character since they have written more than 100 issue focused on the protagonist counting the current series and the old Jonah Hex one.

Darwyn Cooke is in charge of the art and I don't think anyone could have asked for a better way to go. Cooke is a master storyteller and every scene here is emphasized perfectly thanks to the clear action, expression and overall beautiful style.

This is a great manner to end a series, you need to check it out this issue if you simply like a well-told story.
