Can the Green Arrow actually be broken?
Oliver has been suffering due to constant attacks in recent months by people who want to see him dead but he knows that he needs to protect his city no matter what. Now, the final battle against Richard Dragon is here and Ollie will have to face him if he wants to save not only his home but also his family.
I suppose that I could say this issue gives me a bittersweet feeling.
As you may already know, this creative team is leaving this series next month with the Futures End tie-in issue and in fact the current one is the last chapter of their ongoing story "Broken", it's great as you may expect but that's the same reason why I'm disappointed about them leaving.
Jeff Lemire continues to bring an Oliver Queen who has been learning due to the events he had to endure recently and has become a much more competent hero by that. The fight against Richard Dragon and its resolution is a pretty interesting and logical one considering the kind of characters who appear in this book.
Emiko continues to be an incredibly likable character and I hope that she has a future in the DCU, even the sub-plot of Naomi and Fyff has a satisfying conclusion.
Andrea Sorrentino brings a powerful ending to this arc by giving it a pretty bombastic feel with all the double page layouts to the fight and the excellent storytelling techniques that makes all much clearer and stronger. Marcelo Maiolo complements it with really beautiful and dark colors that brings the best of it.
Excellent conclusion. You don't know how much I'm going to miss you guys.
