Some thoughts about The Wild Storm #23

The world's biggest threat is about to appear.

Jenny believes that her new team needs to stay together but different forces want to take them apart one way or another just in time when a monster is about to destroy everything.

Everything is FINALLY coming together.

Warren Ellis brings a new chapter where he explores the ramifications of the creation of The Authority while he plants the seeds for the future. The dynamic between the new classic Wild Storm team is great, particularly how their new personalities made them behave from one another and, speaking as a fan of Apollo and the Midnighter, I really love how their new relationship is developing, definitely makes them look like a more believable couple.

The plot progresses at a decent enough pace but at times it seems like it devotes too much time for exposition as a way to compensate for how decompressed early issues were but Ellis still gives a solid set-up for his upcoming Wild Cats series with the constant mention of that classic team and how is bound to happen.

Jon Davis-Hunt remains in art duties and his work is still really good thanks to the expressive characters and on-point storytelling.

Good read, hope the conclusion is satisfying.
