Some thoughts about Justice League #23

Can Superman escape from the Fourth Dimension?

The Justice League is trying to escape from this bizarre alternate reality and to do so, Batman will have to make a great sacrifice.

This story continues and while it still suffers from the usual problems, it still does a few good things.

Scott Snyder delivers a new installment where he explores more about the Sixth Dimension and Mr. Mxyzptlk's plans. The pacing is really fast due to the constant action scenes and the writer also manages to create some interesting character moments, particularly from Superman and Batman's perspectives while also offering surprises concerning the nature of this particular universe.

That being said, the narration continues to be heavyhanded because the characters always need to state every single detail that happens on page leaving very little to the imagination. Is not as obtuse as previous issues but is still noticeable.

Jorge Jimenez' artwork is outstanding thanks to his energetic style and great scale that makes the story much better.

Not bad overall but I'm hoping for something better in the next one.
