Some thoughts about Teen Titans #16

Can Starfire save her friends?

The team has been rejecting Kory recently but now she's ready to prove how important she is to them once that old enemies appear.

Filler issue and boy, does it feel like it.

Marv Wolfman delivers a stand-alone story focusing on Starfire which I guess is logical considering the history of the author with the team and character but this still should have been better executed. The way how Starfire feels "neglected" by her friends is a pretty silly misunderstanding and a poor way to set-up the story which just makes the whole situation ridiculous.

Not the only problem though since the fight against the villains is just derivative superhero stuff which is only more important because of the connection they have with Starfire but not even that is explored in a compelling way and is solved pretty quickly.

Tom Derenick handles the art and is decent. Good character models and storytelling overall.

Quite underwhelming story though, is pretty much a waste of an issue.
