Some thoughts about Green Arrow #26

The Outsiders War is upon us.

Oliver Queen has tried his best to forget and surpass the kind of person he was before his accident but now he will be obligated to remember it due to his return to the island that gave life to Green Arrow so he can find the totem weapon that belongs to his clan. Unfortunately, things may not go as planned since The Outsiders have send Kodiak and his Shield Clan to stop him.

This is the first chapter from this anticipated storyarc and it automatically delivers all of its promises. Here, we see how the different plot-ploints that Jeff Lemire has been developing during the course of the series are starting to come together and the result is in a pretty satisfactory way to progress both the story and Ollie's character.

For the first time since issue 0, we see some of the events that happened between the arrival to the island and the return to Seattle. Lemire doesn't ignore anything since the events from issue 0 are still present as well as all the characters that it contained (Yes, I'm talking about Tommy Merlyn).

But of course, half of the credit goes to Andrea Sorrentino for a pitch-perfect interpretation of past events and Ollie's development as an archer and person. Not to mention that the environments from the island looks absolutely gorgeous.

Favorite book of the week. This is shaping to be the best story yet for this creative team.
