Some thoughts about Justice League 3000 #1

The Justice League has arrived into the year 3000 but are they the same heroes?

Terri and Teri, the so called Wonder Twins, have created a strange and dangerous experiment, they have brought the world's greatest superheroes to the future but at a cost, these are not the original members but in fact they are they clones. Can this new team with none of the positive traits of the original save the future?

All right, this is the first issue from the anticipated series and so far I think it's a pretty interesting beginning. Together, Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis bring enough ideas and worldbuilding into this age to make it their own and quite different from the future that we have seen on Legion of Super-Heroes.

They also introduce some interesting concepts to the characters like how would a Clark Kent without the guidance of his parents act? Or, what motivates a Bruce Wayne without the death of his parents? These are pretty strong questions that present great possibilities for characterization and of course, the interaction between the members of the cast is wonderful, Giffen and DeMatteis bring personality and humour to the title without going overboard like in their Justice League International days. This is the kind of dynamic that I love in team books and they have definitely delivered in that front.

But of course, I'm sure you wonder how Howard Porter's art look, it looks stunning, what did you expect? Powerful, kinetic, creative and immersive, I'm glad that he was chosen to define the look for this book.

Excellent and promising first issue, this might be my favorite read of the week.
