Some thoughts about Red Hood & the Outlaws Annual #1

Is time for the brothers to meet once again.

Dick has just come to visit Jason and his friends at the right moment since an old enemy is about to cause chaos in the circus.

Yet another perfectly told story.

Scott Lobdell creates this Annual as its own stand-alone story to cement the relationship between Jason and Dick. The character work remains as one of the strongest aspects of this book due that Lobdell creates a pretty natural connection between the two former Robins in a way that makes you believe that they're actual brothers, both are perfectly in character while their relationship develops satisfactorily.

Not only that but Lobdell also explores a bit of Jason's original background by implementing the relation between him and the circus. For people who don't know, Jason's first origin was basically Dick's and is cool that such aspect is addressed in some way. Add the enjoyable and charming moments with the rest of the cast along with interesting enough action and you have a quite good read.

Tyler Kirkham handles the art and I was missing him. He has a pretty vibrant style that creates beautiful characters and intense fight scenes.

Good stuff, one of the best reads this week.
