Recommendations from Comixology's Transformers Sale

It seems like someone has been listening to my wishes since now Comixology is delivering a Transformers sale focusing on the first volumes of many of the series published by IDW and even more.

And of course, once again I'm here to give you some recommendations:
  • Transformers Classics Vol. 1: The first 13 issues of the original series featuring these characters originally published by Marvel Comics. It's very old-school but it's a nice way to see how the past was handled.
  • Transformers Spotlight Vol. 1: Written by long-time Transformers author Simon Furman, it focuses on some obscure members from this franchise and gives them some new depth. Each spotlight is also connected to the overaching plot that Furman was initially constructing. Really recommended.
  • Transformers: Last Stand of the Wreckers Vol. 1: Written by both Nick Roche and James Roberts with art by Roche himself, this story concentrates on one of the most dangerous groups inside of the Transformer, The Wreckers who try to survive against the immensily powerful psychopath Overlord. One of the best and most brutal stories that IDW has ever published.
  • All Hail Megatron Vol. 1: Handled by Shane McCarthy, this is exactly what you would think if you imagined a huge event being created for the Transformers universe. Is a pretty fun blockbuster tale about how the Decepticons actually win.
  • Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye Vol. 1: I've already talked several times about this series created by James Roberts and you should know already that is one of the most creative, immersive and powerful stories from this franchise. It also features excellent art by both Nick Roche and Alex Milne.
  • Transformers: Robots In Disguise Vol. 1: The series that would eventually become the main Transformers title. Written by John Barber it concentrates on how the characters try to once again fit in Cybertron. It delivers some really great and surprising moments of characterization for Prowl and Starscream while telling a pretty interesting plot.
I wish that they would have also offered some of the early stories written by Simon Furman like Infiltration and Stormbringer but this is still a quite good sale.

Hope that this helps you with your choices.
