Who is Bruce Wayne?
A child's parents have been murdered and Bruce can't help but feeling close to the victims but maybe is too late to help them.
Man, this pretty much goes along with the usual problems.
Tom King offers a stand-alone story focusing on a kid who just lost his parents. The parallels are evident from the get go and King does a solid job at depicting the investigation thanks to the solid pacing and how all of this escalates appropriately towards the end.
Then what is the problem? Well, for one, I saw who the murderer was a mile away, it was pretty obvious due to the way it was presented so that wasn't a surprise. Second, the parallels between the kid are too heavyhanded for their own good and that also comes with the awkward characterization that King has been creating for Batman since the beginning of his run where he's way to dependant of his parents' death and makes him look almost pathetic. Yes, Batman is supposed to have a complex but please don't make it too obnoxious.
Travis Moore's artwork is quite good with expressive characters, dark tone and strong storytelling.
This is actually not badly-written, just shows bad characterization. Shame.
