Is Harley Quinn ready to start once again?
Harley has suffered a lot of tragedies lately and wants to be alone but once that one of her best friends is missing, she will have no choice but go after him.
A new creative team arrives here. Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner concluded their long run just last week and Frank Tieri was chosen to replace them. How does this issue fare?
Well, so far is a solid story.
There's a significant difference in the tone between both runs, apparently Tieri going for a more serious tone compared to Palmiotti and Conner which is not bad per se and the writer manages to execute it appropriately. The story implements Harley's established supporting cast which serves to create a good sense of continuity but at the same time introduces aspects from the Batmythos like the Man-Bat serum which is heavily used in the plot.
The characterization is solid for the most part considering recent events in Harley's life and the rest of the cast also act accordingly although I do hope that this more serious tone is not prevalent in the long run since it would go against the whole premise of the characters.
Inaki Miranda handles the art and is fantastic. Great character models and strong action scenes which are required for this book.
Good overall, let's see how this continues.
