Some thoughts about Wonder Twins #2

Can the Wonder Twins face the criminal world?

A supervillain has escaped prison and both Zan and Jayna will have to fight against a vampire who doesn't want to.

This series continues and while silly, I can't help but think is a bit messy in its message.

Mark Russell brings a new installment where he explores how criminals are treated in general. Just right from the beginning there's the criticism about how people who are put into prisons might not be as guilty as they often appear and they're just being used as cheap workers for bigger corporations which, fair enough, might actually happen but since I don't live in the U.S.A. and speaking from my perspective, I would happily make criminals work instead of doing nothing at all in jail. This chapter seems to misrepresent some scenarios in the favor of its theme as well.

There's also the introduction of Baron Nightblood as a supervillain who used to be an addict to alcoholic blood which is funny in and of itself but at the same time it tries to represent criminals as victims of the circunstances who no matter their efforts, can't get straight because society won't allow it but at the same time is presented in such a convoluted and forced way that the idea doesn't hit the right notes.

Stephen Byrne handles the art and is really good looking thanks to his semi-cartoony style and clear storytelling.

Mixed thoughts overall, could have been better.
