Some thoughts about Supergirl: Being Super #2

Supergirl is about to face one of her biggest tragedies.

The recent catastrophe has affected a lot of people including Kara who just lost one of her friends. Now she will need to try to figure how to move forward and learn more about her origins at the same time.

This issue took a while to get released but the wait was almost worthy.

Mariko Tamaki delivers a new chapter that takes place exactly after the last one ended with Kara trying to use her powers for good just as a huge earthquake is putting people at risk. The best part comes when Kara ultimately fails to save one of her best friends and the ramifications of that event due that she and her other friend have to deal with the grief. Is a pretty realistic take on the sense of loss that someone feels when a love one is gone, the way how their different emotions and reaction are depicted was pretty clear and relatable which makes this easily one of the most understandable and human issues I've read this week.

The rest of the chapter progresses the plot although most of it is devoted to the emotional drama, we see a bit more of Kara's origin and how it will play an important role in the future.

Joelle Jones handles the artwork and is really solid thanks to the diverse expressions she able to convey during the most emotive segments.

Solid overall, hope the next one doesn't take too long once again.
