Whatever happened to Jessica Jones and Luke Cage?
Jessica has been running from her husband for a while and their daughter is the main reason of it. There are other things to worry about though since a supervillain is coming after her.
Eh, didn't enjoy this one as much sadly.
The characterization is still pretty solid, Brian Bendis definitely understands all the characters who appear here and it should be logical considering his history with them. Jessica's portrayal is by far the most accurate I've seen in years and Luke's voice is on-point during the flashback scenes. The way how Jessica's worlds clashes with her superhero life brings a nice contrast.
Most of the right points are there and the writer manages to play with the mystery of what happened between Jessica and Luke in an interesting manner that makes you intrigued about their fate. However, most of the good points here are not depicted as strongly as in issue 1, at least not to that extend, it might be because of the fact that there's less content but it felt like a downgrade. Bendis' dialogue can be a bit tedious after a while as well.
Michael Gaydos remains in art duties and his work is still perfect for the book obviously. The semi-realistic style that manages to bring good expressions creates a good parallel with the silliest superhero characters.
Not bad but not as exciting as the last one. Hope the next one is better.
