Some thoughts about Wonder Woman #11

Whatever happened to Themyscira?

Diana is finally back home or at least is what she believes since the events that have been happening lately will reveal the truth.

You see, this was well-written, in fact better written than most of "The Lies" issues but I still don't like the direction.

What do I mean by this? Well, Greg Rucka's dialogue is much better than before with less heavy-handed themes that we have seen during this arc and actually focuses on good character and plot development by bringing little yet strong scenes where the members of the cast experience the change of events and how they affect them emotionally. Writing-wise, there's no complaints.

The problem is that Rucka is integrating a huge retcon here by pretty much stating that everything that happened during Brian Azzarello's run was lie including the origin of Themyscira. This wouldn't bother me so much if Azzarello's run wasn't one of the best eras of the character and quite frankly, Rucka's has not been consistent enough to top it and justify such change.

Liam Sharp's artwork is much more consistent by creating more natural character models and precise storytelling with a beautiful style.

Mixed thoughts about this but let's see where it goes.
