Hal Jordan is dead or is he?
After the last battle against Sinestro, both Hal and him have completely disappeared and is up to the rest of their respective Corps to protect an universe that continues to be in peril.
Hal might be gone but the title continues to be as entertaining as ever.
Robert Venditti offers a new chapter where he immediately starts playing with the consequences of the last one with both Corps having to deal with the absense of their leaders. The characterization works quite nicely due that this is finally time for the rest of the cast to shine and they do it in a pretty entertaining way. Their personalities are clear in each one of the members of the cast despite that they might only have a few lines of dialogue and they continue to be developed in an effective manner as well.
There's also a lot of plot progression due that there's a new threat in the universe, one that people familiar with the DCU mythos will immediately recognize and even the appearance of a classic villain who is apparently manipulating everything.
Plus, there's even more surprises towards the end. This issue didn't disappoint at all in that regard.
Ethan Van Sciver handles the artwork and he manages to make every scene big in terms of scope with a lot of detail in the characters and action scenes.
Great stuff, this book is on a roll right now.
