Some thoughts about Justice League Odyssey #21

Darkseid is here.

Jessica has failed to stop the God of Apokolips and not even her powerful allies are able to face him. Now their only solution is to distract him.

I completely forgot this was released this week but then again, can you blame me?

That description makes the issue sound as boring as it actually is and there's no reason why it should be. Dan Abnett has all the right ingredients here to make an interesting enough story considering they have Darkseid of all people as the main antagonist. However, the issue mostly devolves in constant distractions and stalling the actual final fight for the sake of it, in fact the cover makes the encounter between those two characters more important than it actually is.

There are some glances of compelling interactions between the cast but ultimately achieve nothing and once again, they're mostly there to drag the plot to tedious levels.

I feel bad for Will Conrad since his work is actually pretty good with impressive action scenes and great storytelling. He deserves to work on something better.

Skip this. There are better things to waste your time on.
