Can Superman save Earth?
The whole planet has been trapped in the Phantom Zone and now Clark will need all the help in the world to not only help his people escape but also defeat Rogol Zaar.
This actually showed more progress but not without flaws.
Brian Bendis offers a new chapter where everything is escalating towards the inevitable end. This is basically the preparation for the final battle against Rogol in which Clark has to face some of the allies the villain made in the Phantom Zone and at the same time make Clark reconnect with other Kryptonians and force them to realize what is actually happening. The Justice League also plays an important role to save Earth and it was cool to see these characters having some of the spotlight. This allows for a decent amount of content that I feel was lacking before.
That being said, this issue cemented that I simply don't like the way how Bendis writes Jon. The kid is ready to make other people pay for what they're saying about him and his father which is pretty incorrect based on his other appearances. Jon is sweet and kind kid who is pretty much the opposite of Damian Wayne (who I could see having this sort of reaction) so this kind of reaction just feels pretty off for me. Mind you, I did enjoy Clark's talk about how he sometimes want to kill Batman.
Ivan Reis' artwork is really good thanks to his beautiful and kinetic style that creates expressive characters and epic fights.
Not bad but could have been better.
