How can Deathstroke survive in the craziest place on Earth?
Slade has been interned in Arkham Asylum and now he will have to live along with some of the worst criminals in the world who also want him dead.
And we're finally back to this particular plot-point.
As people who have been following this book should know, the last Deathstroke Vs. Batman storyline actually took place quite a while before this chapter, in fact it interrupted the current storyline but Christopher Priest is a good enough author to make all of this work without interrupting the pacing and even some of the themes that he worked on during the last arc are implemented solidly here.
As we saw in early issues, Slade is now trapped in Arkham and fighting for his life and sanity. This works in several levels due that in previous issues Priest has been playing with Slade's mind from his conflicts with morality when he was part of Defiance to the fact that now Wintergreen is living in his head which of course puts his whole mental health in question, especially inside of the asylum.
The plot progresses at a nice pace and offers solid content. Some of the old themes come back like Slade's problems with his children and Rose's desire for getting her own identity. Everything comes together nicely.
Ed Benes and Fernando Pasarin share the pencils and they do a pretty good job at creating a cohesive look during the entire read.
Good stuff, hope the next one continues this trend.
