Who will Sideways find now?
Derek has been trapped in a realm connected to the Dark Multiverse and he will have to find a way to escape but not without meeting the most unexpected person.
Thought this was rather unremarkable but not without surprises.
Dan Didio offers a new chapter where it makes the whole original premise suspect. As I mentioned during the last chapter, the plot was supposed to focus on the Seven Soldiers of Victory but for some reason Derek left them halfway to concentrate basically on a completely different story with new characters. This comes with its own sort of disappointments because I love the Seven Soldiers of Victory (both the classic and new incarnations) and makes the solicits of this book kinda misleading but the problem is also because the characters who appear here are not interesting enough to give them so much attention and Derek's role in all of this is not that important either.
That being said, I was pretty surprised about what happens at the end. I guess I will have to mention some SPOILERS here but Derek arrives in a prison where he finds what seems to be the early New 52 version of Superman which is in and of itself a pretty intriguing idea due that supposedly the New 52 version was fused with the current/classic incarnation of the character so this makes little sense but at the same time makes me wonder the explanation behind.
Max Raynor handles the art and is really good looking thanks to the vibrant style and detailed character models.
Overall, kinda dull but kinda interesting at the same time. Hope the next one is better.
