Harley's future is much worse than her present.
Living in a post-apocalyptic world is really hard, especially once that one of its worst villains, the Joker, is threatening to return.
A new Harley Quinn miniseries has begun and is based on little side-story Frank Tieri himself created for the main series which itself is based on the already over-used Old Man Logan universe. That being said, I believe there's merit in this story.
The issue opens interestingly enough by presenting how different this future is from the present and shows a few intriguing concepts like the fact that Power Girl became President, zombies roam the Earth and the Condiment King is an important personality now. All of this fits the style of the classic series perfectly due that it mixes violence with insanity appropriately and all of this with a sense of humour that should be familiar for fans of the main book.
I do wish that there was less emphasis on the Batman mythos though (and this is a problem I had with Tieri's previous little arc as well). The amount of Bat characters who appear here is huge and I feel like Harley has already enough of her own characters to sustain the series but at least Red Tool appears here. On the other hand, the inclusion of the Joker makes sense and there's an intriguing surprise at the end.
Inaki Miranda handles the art and is beautiful thanks to the detailed characters and strong storytelling.
Solid overall, hope things get even better.
