- Scott Snyder/Greg Capullo's Batman: This is on the road of becoming one of the most influential Batman stories of all time. Snyder is able to recreate an incredibly, er, gothic atmosphere for Gotham City while also retelling some of the early days of the Caped Crusader. Snyder's stories wouldn't be as good without Capullo's pencils who is able to give everything a quite cinematic and distinctive look.
- Jeph Loeb's Superman/Batman: Do you like fun stories? Then this one was made for you. Loeb's series explores several of the plot-points he created on his own Superman and Batman work from the past but does it in a way that it feels like more of a big action movie that is quite entertaining. He also collaborated with really talented artists like Ed MacGuinnes and Michael Turner who sadly passed away years ago.
- Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns: One of the most influential Batman stories of all time, the story written and drawn by Miller is something you need to read by yourself.
- Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale's Batman: The Long Halloween: This is one of the best stories written by Loeb which is basically "Year Two" for Batman. Loeb explores the past of the Dark Knight and retells the origin of Scarface in this great mystery story.
- Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale's Batman: Dark Victory: The sequel from the last series handled by the same creative team, except that this also deals with the arrival of Dick Grayson.
- Batman Classics: All the fun Silver Age stories you could get along with some modern tales too.
- Detective Comics Classics: Lots of stories including the debut of Batman, Year Two and of course The Laughing Fish.
