Travels always offer stories to tell.
On one of his many adventures around the country, Matt Murdock encounters a strange man who somehow doesn't have a heartbeat which prompts Daredevil to investigate what happened to him, but what Matt doesn't know is that he will find more than what he expected.
This is a digital exclusive one-and-done story written by current Daredevil writer Mark Waid and it's so good at that.
It's necessary to mention that this supposedly occurs between the first and the second volumes handled by the author which explains why Daredevil is not currently in San Francisco and I'm glad that Waid uses this opportunity to tell some stories that couldn't fit in the setting from the current series.
The writer simply understands the character, this one of the best stand-alone tales that I've read this week or even recently. Waid utilizes Daredevil's ability masterfully to make him do things that you don't usually see being explored in comics, not to mention that he also creates an interesting premise for it.
I don't want to say much about the villains because I don't want to spoil the story, I will say though that they represent an interesting challenge for the protagonist and even create a compelling dilemma for him.
Peter Krause is in charge of art duties for this issue and his work is wonderful, Mark Waid is definitely lucky for being accompanied by such talented pencillers. Krause's storytelling techniques are perfectly on-point, he follows the script greatly.
Another winning issue, Mark Waid dominates Daredevil's world.
