Some thoughts about Green Arrow #37

Is this the end of Red Arrow?

Emiko has just been shot and is up to Oliver's friends to end this fight for good but as usual, his problems are far from over.

Of course Red... you know what? F*ck that, I'm not calling her Red Arrow, that was a forced identity that Percy gave to her, she's Emiko Queen, that's a pretty damn cool name already.

Where was I? Oh yeah, of course Emiko is not dead because everyone knew that was not going to happen so yes, typical predictable cliff hanger but one at least would have thought that Percy was going to dedicate more time to the idea of if her life was actually risk, he recovered so quickly that the whole thing was pretty much worthless. Credit where credit is due though, I did like how Percy handled the idea of family in the first few pages which seemed right.

Fortunately though, this is the end of the whole arc focusing on Not Moira (because that's who she is, I refuse to believe she's Ollie's mom considering what happened during Lemire's run). On the other hand, this continues to showcase how erratic Diggle's characterization is since he keeps flip-flopping between "I'm your enemy! No, wait, I'm your friend!" and is so forced that makes me believe that Percy doesn't even know what to do with the character. Oh yeah, and Ollie simply forgives him like nothing happened, after what happened with Emiko early on the series, I'm not even surprised.

Juan Ferreyra's artwork is pretty solid due to his strong storytelling skills at least.

Aside from that, completely skippable.
