Some thoughts about Justice League #38

Can the Justice League work together as a team?

The Fan has disrupted the group completely and has made even Batman start to doubt himself. Now is up to the rest of them to try to find the right person to lead them.

Christopher Priest can even made a transition chapter interesting.

The writer comes up with a new installment where he plays with the ramifications of the last one and creates a new set-up for upcoming issues. The character work is the highlight here since the interactions between the cast are really entertaining from discussing their current state as a group to simply talking about mundane things, the characters appear as more human than ever. Priest also manages to include exciting segments like The Flash's desperate effort to save somebody and survive at the same time.

A few concerns though, I don't like how he's hinting about a relationship between a couple of characters which wouldn't work at all considering what's happening in their respective books (although it could also be a mislead). Still, what happens here is incredibly satisfying and developes a few of the characters quite well.

Marco Santucci handles the art and is pretty solid thanks to his expressive models and strong storytelling.

Good stuff overall, sad that this run won't last.
