The trickster God has been one thing and one thing only during his whole existence and it seems like he might not be able to change even if he wants to.
Loki and Lorelei will have to enter Asgardia if they want to discover what are the true intentions of the All-Mother but in his mission Loki will find someone who he didn't want to face, what he is and what he will become.
I love this series, I truly, truly do.
I'm constantly amazed about how incredibly smart and witty Al Ewing makes this story each month. Loki is a pretty intelligent and humourous character and every member from the cast is also full of personality. However, the best aspects all always the different twists that the author continues to bring to the plot and how he tends to play with expectations of the readers.
One of the most significant factors from this read is how the author doesn't take Loki's story that seriously. I mean, he knows the history well but he doesn't shy off from making fun of the most histrionic aspects from the characters just like how he uses the preconceived opinions about the main character in his favor. It makes for a wonderfully distinctive issue.
Lee Garbett continues to provide beautiful artwork that impresses in every segment due to the beauty of his character models and perfect storytelling skills.
Excellent issue, my favorite Marvel book from this week.
