Some thoughts about Justice League #31

Lex Luthor has just found Batman's true identity, what does he plans to do with such information?

The Power Ring has been looking for a new host after the death of its last one and it has finally found it, Jessica Cruz is terrified of the world and that makes her an easy target for the ring. However, she might still have hope since the World's Strangest Heroes have come to her rescue.

This might have been one of the most entertaining reads I've seen this week.

Geoff Johns' new direction for the Justice League title is one that holds a lot of promise and so far it's delivering at it. Lex Luthor's characterization continues to be one of the most interesting and innovative interpretations of the character since the New 52 started, the guy truly believes he can be a hero despite that his methods are not exactly the right ones.

His interaction with Batman is pure gold. There's a pretty logical connection between the two and it's great to finally see it explored in such dynamic, it's something that creates a lot of tension and potential for the future.

The rest of the JL also receive good portrayals in the case of both Cyborg and Shazam whose friendship is being developed and so far it's a quite enjoyable one while new members like Captain Cold act like they would in such situation.

Plus, Johns reintroduced one of my favorite teams from the DCU in the last page.

Doug Mahnke's artwork is simply gorgeous, it looks much better than his previous efforts in this same title. His beautiful character models and great storytelling techniques makes the script much, much stronger.

Love this issue and new direction, can't get enough of it.
