Some thoughts about Futures End #8

Whatever happened to Earth 2 in 5 years?

Grifter is still getting accustomed to his new role in Cadmus while Jason Rusch is trying to avoid his as Firestorm. Meanwhile, Frankenstein and S.H.A.D.E. are trying to figure who is the culprit behind the attack to Stormwatch and the war that happened between worlds is finally starting to be revealed.

This is another character-centric issue but one that it's actually much more satisfying than the previous ones.

The best segments of this story continue to belong to Grifter, it's pretty obvious that the authors are in love with this portrayal since he remains as the most entertaining character from this series but I must say that recently introduced Fifty-Sue is proving to be a strong competitor, she's a quite funny character.

The S.H.A.D.E. segments are also pretty good, Frankenstein and Ray Palmer receive the best moments in terms of characterization and makes them much more interesting than in previous installments.

Scott Eaton is the penciller for this issue and while his art is solid and tells the story competently, is not exactly spectacular.

Solid issue definitely, I really like most of the cast.
