Some thoughts about Teen Titans #40

Will the Teen Titans go to hell?

The team has decided to do everything in their power to save Djinn, even die. All of this only to face their worst fears.

Another issue heavy on character work and it's all good on my book.

Adam Glass and Robbie Thompson explore the surprising cliffhanger of last issue where the team decides to die to go to hell and help Djinn. This whole decision provokes an interesting reaction from the cast and all of them act in a way that goes accord to their personalities (I especially got a laugh when Damian had a formula to kill all of them prepared since he was expecting they all would do the same for him if he ever goes bad).

The hell segment is even more interesting since it makes them clash with their pasts and fears. Some of them are solid like Damian wanting to be different from both Batman and Ra's Al Ghul or Kid Flash's reject of his father Reverse-Flash. Others however, doesn't make a lot of sense like Emiko feeling regret for murdering Deathstroke which is off since she already killed her own surrogate father, Komodo, when she realized he lied to her and it didn't affect her at all back then (and she was much younger back then), then again, this is all because this is based on Ben Percy's Green Arrow and everything bad comes from it.

The issue also ends in yet another interesting cliffhanger.

Eduardo Pansica handles the art and is solid with expressive characters and a lot of detail.

Great read, can't wait for the next one.
