Some thoughts about Young Justice #14

Young Justice needs even more allies.

The search for Conner continues and to be able to find him, the team will need a group that is connected to their past and mission.

Yeah, this is still a mess.

And is not like this should be the case since I like a lot of the stuff that is included here on paper. I've criticized Brian Bendis before for his heavyhanded implementation of nostalgia in this title but I would be lying if I said that the return of Cissie King-Jones, Arrowette, didn't bring a smile to my face. Add the appearance of Aqualad, Spoiler and Sideways and you get an issue full of fanservice.

But that's pretty much where all the positives stop since no matter how much fanservice Bendis throws at us, that doesn't fix a badly-written comic and boy, oh boy, this is terrible written. The awkward dialogue is not the only problem this time since the pacing is all over the place with segment jumping from one point to another without much cohesion while the story is mostly centered around action and therefore, it feels lacking in content.

John Timms and Michael Avon Oeming handle the art and is okay although not as good as their best works, it almost feels rushed.

Pass, although I'm glad to see Cissie again.
