Some thoughts about Batman #91

What are Batman's plans?

The villains who worked for the Designer are ready to take down Gotham unless Bruce is able to work with some of them.

This story continues and it follows the usual formula.

James Tynion IV offers a new installment where he explores more of Batman's actions concerning the current attack. We see how far Bruce is willing to go to save Gotham from this situation up to the point that even his own enemies start to fear his reaction. The rest of the cast also act properly because of this and the sense of escalation is solid.

However, this makes Tynion turn everything pretty much up to eleven from the over-the-top action, reactions and even designs which is not necessarily bad but it even makes Scott Snyder's run look subtle in comparison. This is also reflected on the narration which continues to be pretty heavy-handed at times.

Jorge Jimenez, Rafael Albuquerque and Carlo Pagulayan share the pencils and their work is gorgeous as a whole and even despite of how different styles are, they maintain a consistent tone during the course of the plot. Probably the best aspect of the issue.

Decent overall but still not loving it.
