Some thoughts about The Terrifics #9

The Terrifics' worst enemy has been revealed.

Mister Terrific and his team have been helping Tom Strong all this time to fight the forces of Doctor Dread but the person under the mask could have been closer to them than they expected.

This remains pretty fun fortunately.

Jeff Lemire delivers a new installment of crazy adventures around the Multiverse. The appearance of anthropomorphic cartoon animals in a dimension is always appreciated and continue to contrast with Plastic Man's sense of humour really well while the encounter between Mister Terrific and Swamp Thing gives more depth to the whole plot and offers interesting lines for the two. Tom Strong's inclusion remains as one of the most compelling aspects here due that his sci-fi oriented themes fit the book perfectly.

The story is mostly devoted to the journey around the different realities and in that sense doesn't offer much plot progression but is compensated by entertaining and charming moments for the all the cast. The biggest development happens towards the end in fact where Doctor Dread's identity is revealed and puts everything that has happened so far in perspective.

Jose Luis handles the art and is really solid thanks to the expressive characters, clear storytelling and strong action scenes.

Enjoyable read, hope the next one offers more plot developments though.
