Some thoughts about Justice League Odyssey #2

What is the fate of these heroes?

Cyborg and his team have just found out that they're destined to become Gods and Darkseid might be the only one to help them.

This story continues and is getting more and more interesting.

Joshua Williamson offers a new chapter where he explores more about the cliffhanger from the last one. As we learned during the last issue, each of the protagonists has a different culture that is worshipping them and the writer shows how dangerous that concept can be and how each of the members of the cast react to that while giving this a much more literal meaning towards the end.

Most importantly though, the characterization is really good. The protagonists receive probably some of their most interesting portrayals in years. Cyborg is depicted as a pretty competent and strong leader who is able to face Darkseid and at the same time handle his team appropriately. Azrael is far from the docile version from James Tynion IV's Detective Comics and instead becomes much more ambitious sometimes to dangerous levels. Jessica and Starfire also get moments to shine and Darkseid is also a pretty interesting force of conflict in the cast.

Stjepan Sejic returns and is a shame he won't continue since his artwork here is fantastic, full of beautiful characters and delivers a vibrant style with strong storytelling.

Great read. Hope the next artist is just as good as Sejic.
