Some thoughts about The Flash #57

The Flash needs to get back on track.

Barry is trapped inside of Heat Wave's mind thanks to Sage Force and now both will have to remember what matters to them the most if they want to escape.

First of all, that cover is a lie sadly since nothing like that really happens.

Second, this is still a pretty solid issue.

Joshua Williamson concludes this little arc about the Sage Force in a satisfying manner. The idea behind the new Force is further explored in a way that shows how its abilities can possess and control other people and somehow heal their users (which I can buy since it has happened before and in more ridiculous ways). The plot leads to a pretty appropriate resolution where Barry needs to realize what he has to do next.

The best is the characterization though. Williamson delivers a pretty good segment about Heat Wave and his dynamic with Captain Cold which shows how much Mick cares about his new family despite of their differences. Barry and Iris also get a pretty enjoyable moment where their relationship becomes much stronger.

Scott Kolins handles the art and is once again decent thanks to the classic look he provides and detailed storytelling.

Enjoyable overall, hope the next one is even better.
