Some thoughts about Batwoman #17

Is Batwoman's time over?

Kate has just saved her sister and seems like things are finally going the way she wants but fate has a way to get in her way.

Is funny when things go the way you predict.

Marguerite Bennett follows the consequences of the last issue with Beth finally going back to normal (and thank God she did because Lord knows that her dementia is an overplayed aspect of her when they need to search for villain for Kate). Bennett also seems like she wants to re-establish a relationship between Kate and Renee and I just have to ask, why? Renee was never the best girlfriend, in fact she had a lot of self-destructive traits that almost took Kate as well during the last continuity and that's without mentioning how little Renee can commit to a relationship, she's pretty much the female version of Oliver Queen (and I guess this makes Kate her Dinah). Is not really one of the best directions for both to be honest.

That's not my biggest problem though since the characters from that boring island continue to be brought back and I honestly can tell the difference between them, let alone remember their names. Also, remember how things went the way I predicted? Well, there a "time" theme that is constantly being repeated during the course of the issue and I was like "Wait, you're not going that way right? I mean, is too blunt and obvious" and yes! Things went that way! The Clock King appears at the end also referencing time which makes this one of the unsurprising cliffhangers this week (Oh, and the fact that this is Ben Percy's Clock King with the frikking clock tatoo on his face doesn't make things any more subtle).

Fernando Blanco's art is pretty good though with a beautiful artstyle and storytelling.

Aside from that, please end already.
