Some thoughts about Superman #33

Can the Supermen work together?

Both Clark and Lex seem to be finally in good terms but that might not last long once that people of Apokolips return for one of their rulers.

New storyarc starts and is fortunately better than the last one.

That's right, the creative team of Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason return with a pretty strong opening that focus on several consequences from previous stories. I unfortunately haven't been reading the last few issues from Action Comics so I assume that this new status quo of Clark and Lex being friends happened there, here it basically came out of nowhere and made me scratch me head a few times but that being said, the interactions between the two were quite enjoyable and is pretty much depicted as how a friendship between both characters would be in my mind.

The writers also seem to be taking inspiration from one of the stories from Geoff Johns' Justice League when Lex became the ruler of Apokolips for a little while and I'm glad that king of little plot-point is being further explored, it presents tons of possibilities for the future.

Doug Manhke handles the pencils and is quite good looking as expected with beautiful and imposing characters and outstanding storytelling.

Great beginning, excited for the next one.
