Some thoughts about Dark Nights: Metal #3

Can the Justice League defeat the Dark Multiverse?

Clark can hear Bruce calling him and he's ready to find him no matter what but the road will bring more deaths than expected.

The story progresses at a nice pace at least.

Scott Snyder continues the biggest event of the year by exploring more about the current threat as well as the rest of the DCU. There are solid emotional moments during the early scenes where the connection between the heroes is emphasized (and Snyder goes for a bit of self-mockery too which is appreciated) so makes their following actions much more justifiable which solidly builds-up to an interesting pay-off towards the end while referencing all the little events that have happened so far.

This story has been successful an integrating different aspects from the world into it and this issue is no different since we see other obscure concepts like the Oblivion Bar which is appropriately depicted and a few hints to past stories which makes the read much richer.

A few flaws though in the form of Snyder's usual overexposition which, while necessary at times, is still very noticeable.

Greg Capullo's artwork is quite good as usual with detailed and beautiful character models and precise storytelling.

Solid chapter overall, interested in the next one.
