Some thoughts about Detective Comics #944

Batman will have to face the consequences of his role.

The Victim Syndicate have just revealed their presence and their plan to make Batman and his team to pay for his mistakes and they might be more dangerous than they expect.

Well, this is yet another consistent installment at the very least.

James Tynion IV continues his storyarc about The Victim Syndicate who are not really an original idea since Peter Tomasi pretty much already did a similar premise during his Batman and Robin run but Tynion's execution manages to make this enjoyable despite of this. The villains are interesting enough as they are and they show a personal connection to a few members of the cast which presents some intriguing possibilities for the future.

I had a few problems about how Batwing was portrayed last issue but here he's more tolerable showing how competent he can actually be while justifying his role in the team. Not bad overall.

Eddy Barrows handles the art here and at times it looks really good and some panels are pretty creative but the storytelling can be a bit off with weird transitions here and there.

Enjoyable overall, let's see where this goes.
