Some thoughts about Green Lantern: Futures End #1

Hal Jordan has survived the attack of the Black Lanterns before, can he do it once again?

Krona has obtained the power of the death and now he's coming to destroy everything. Now, Hal's only hope is Relic and his influence over the Emotional Spectrum, but not even that could be enough to save their lifes.

A Futures End tie-in and I really love how Robert Venditti has utilized this setting.

The characterization is excellent, the writer exploits the 5 Years Later story to explore some pretty obvious yet compelling aspects of Hal Jordan like how his absense from earth has affected him all this time. The relationship with his father is also really well done, is pretty faithful with what was previously established between the two.

One of the things I enjoyed the most from this chapter is the amount of old villains they appeared, they were some pretty old and classic characters from the franchise who were reintroduced here even if they were no truly alive.

Martin Coccolo is accompanied by Aaron Lopresti for the artwork in this issue and their styles complement each other's greatly. Lopresti is in charge of the personal moments which shine thanks to his expressive style while Coccolo handles the action in space with a more dynamic tone.

An excellent one-and-done story, one of the best from this week.
