The war has created a lot of tension between the surface and underwater world, especially due that Aquaman was forced to help the former during the war. That's not the only problem though, something ocurred between Arthur and Mera that made the conflict even worse and the rest of Atlantis will do anything to get rid of their former king.
Holy, once again I end-up being surprised by Dan Jurgens' work in the franchise.
The writer brings many of the plot-points he has been introducing in the series Aquaman and the Others to the current Futures End tie-in and does it in way that complement the setting perfectly. For example, what was the event that caused problems between Arthur and Mera?
Another thing that's worth noticing is that Jurgens is even implementing aspects from Geoff Johns' own run besides the inclusion of The Others like the Dead King and one of the best aspects here is that it allows him to do things he would normally won't in the usual continuity.
By the way, this story will continue in Aquaman and the Others: Futures End and it makes sense considering all the things he hinted here.
Alvaro Martinez is handling the pencils and his works is pretty solid, he's able to capture every moment from the script perfectly.
Quite good issue, I'm really excited for the conclusion at the end of this month.
