Some thoughts about Green Lantern Corps: Futures End #1

The Green Lantern Corps have changed but John Stewart has changed the most.

After the loss of Fatality, John has become more violent than ever despite of what the rest of the Corps might think about that. Now, he will need to stop an old ally while at the same time try to find the last bit of compassion that is left on him.

I was surprised about the amount of changes that happened here.

Van Jensen experiments with the current setting of Futures End to give us a completely different John from what we're used to see, one that has gained a reputation due to his cruelty over the course of the yeats. Is actually a pretty interesting twist that works very well based on the events of the current series.

Plus, there are a lot of teases about upcoming stories and it was a nice twist to see who is the traitor among the GLC.

If I had a complaint though, is that I wish they would have used the Indigo Tibe aspect on John a bit more, but is not a huge deal.

Igor Lima, Ruy Jose, Rodney Buchemi and Geraldo Borges share art duties and fortunately all of them manage to keep a consistent style over the course of the issue. Marcelo Maiolo's colors help to achieve that and maintain the usual look of the series.

Overall, another good stand-alone story. Recommended.
