Some thoughts about Justice League Dark: Futures End #1

The Justice League Dark has been trapped between dimensions and only their leader will be able to save them.

The years have completely changed Zatanna and made her a much more ruthless woman who is willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish her mission. Now, along with the rest of the members from her team, she's ready to face the entity that is currently holding them back.

This actually works as a story on its own instead of a tie-in.

J.M. DeMatteis along Len Wein tell an one-and-done tale about the future and how it has altered many of the characters who appear as well as the relationship between them. Zatanna especially has become a much more powerful and dangerous person which is something interesting to see based on her character.

There were also good moments of worldbuilding since some characters from the supernatural side of the DCU were introduced here and complemented the story nicely.

Andres Guinaldo continues his work here and his style is especially good at depicting the most bizarre scenes from this issue.

Overall, this is yet another satisfying chapter from this series. Solid read.
