Some thoughts about Worlds' Finest: Futures End #1

All the people from Earth 2 have been captured, how will they be able to escape?

Power Girl has managed to infiltrate Cadmus to rescue Helena and the rest of her world, but not even her powers will be enough to save them from their fate.

I suppose is my own fault for having higher expectations for this one.

Why did I have a bigger expectations? Because Keith Giffen was serving as an advisor here and I was hoping he would help Paul Levitz to make the usual Worlds' Finest issue more interesting and while it is more compelling than in the past issues, that's no achievement at all.

For one, there's much more action than what we're accustomed to in this series but there's not much character development and despite that the story progresses, is not that important in the grand scale of things.

Another problem in the writing is repetition of some words. Fifty-Sue says her own name so many times it gets annoying, I don't think that was Giffen's fault since he usually makes fun of such behavior so I'm blaming Levitz here (as expected).

I was also disappointed that the new Power Girl didn't have many scenes here, she barely appeared for a few moments that's all.

Yildiray Cinar's artwork is definitely the best aspect of this issue thanks to his beautiful and expressive characters.

In summary, yet another mediocre issue. Consistency.
